Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy on Tuesday directed all District Election Officers (DEOs) to ensure their districts crossed 90% SIR enumeration by the end of this week as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026.
The CEO held a video conference with the GHMC Commissioner, who is also the District Election Officer of Hyderabad, and District Election Officers across the state. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vasam Venkateswar Reddy, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer G. S. Chary, nodal officers and members of the technical team attended the meeting.
Sudharsan Reddy instructed officials to speed up the digitisation of Enumeration Forms and make effective use of the available time to achieve the target. He also directed Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), BLO Supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to closely monitor all SIR activities for timely completion.
90% SIR enumeration target reviewed
The CEO instructed officials to maintain transparency and proper documentation during meetings with political parties. He also asked them to focus on urban pockets and Assembly constituencies showing comparatively lower progress.
Further, Sudharsan Reddy directed officials to ensure that VVIP and VIP electors were included in the electoral rolls. He clarified that BLOs should not insist on physical Enumeration Forms if voters had already submitted them online. They were also told not to insist on Aadhaar cards while accepting Enumeration Forms.
Meanwhile, the CEO asked officials to facilitate voters in submitting Enumeration Forms and resolve grievances promptly. He also directed them to carefully verify Absent, Shifted and Dead (ASD) cases and maintain accurate records.
In addition, Sudharsan Reddy called for stronger field-level monitoring and closer coordination with supervisory officers for the smooth implementation of SIR-2026. He also instructed officials to complete the rationalisation of polling stations within the stipulated timeline.
The CEO reviewed district-wise progress on unmapped electors, polling stations with less than 50% progress and uncollected Enumeration Forms. He directed officials to thoroughly verify all “No Mapping” electors and take appropriate action wherever necessary. He also instructed all departments to work in coordination to ensure the timely completion of SIR-2026.
