Hyderabad: Mizoram Speaker Pu Lalbiakzama and his wife, Van Lalruti, visited the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday. Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar welcomed the Mizoram Speaker and his wife during their visit.
The two Speakers held a meeting in the Assembly Speaker’s chamber. They discussed the functioning, procedures and conduct of legislative business in their respective Assemblies.
Mizoram Speaker discusses legislative practices
Prasad Kumar briefed the Pu Lalbiakzama on the development and welfare programmes being implemented by the Telangana government. He also explained the state’s governance initiatives and legislative practices.
Further, the two leaders exchanged views on the functioning of their respective legislatures. They discussed Assembly procedures and methods adopted for conducting legislative business.
Later, Prasad Kumar felicitated Pu Lalbiakzama and Van Lalruti on behalf of the Telangana Legislative Assembly. He presented them with shawls and mementoes to mark the visit.
Legislative Council Secretary Dr. V. Narasimha Charyulu, Assembly Secretary Rendla Tirupati and other legislative officials attended the meeting.
