Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka reviewed the progress of the Musi rejuvenation project during a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting held at Praja Bhavan.
Ministers Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar also attended the meeting.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the government was following a people-centric approach in implementing the project.
He stated that officials had modified the project alignment to minimise the impact on residential properties and existing structures.
Musi rejuvenation project targets December 2027 completion
The Deputy Chief Minister announced that the government successfully secured ₹7,055 crore from the Asian Development Bank for Phase-I of the project.
Officials said work would begin on the first 5-km stretch from Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar to Bapughat.
The project also includes plans for a 55-km elevated corridor from Narsingi to Gourelli.
Authorities are also planning rubber dams and advanced sewage treatment facilities as part of the rejuvenation works.
Bhatti Vikramarka stated that experts from IIT and JNTU would provide technical support for the project.
He said the government aimed to complete the Musi rejuvenation project by December 2027.
The Deputy Chief Minister described the project as a social responsibility aimed at transforming Hyderabad into a sustainable and world-class city.
