Asifabad to host Indiramma housing programme launch

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch the second phase of the Indiramma housing programme in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district on June 2 during the state formation day celebrations.

Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy visited the district on Wednesday and reviewed preparations for the programme.

The Minister inspected locations scheduled for the Chief Minister’s visit. He also reviewed ongoing Indiramma housing construction works.

Indiramma housing programme gains pace in Asifabad

Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, MLC Dande Vittal, District Collector K. Haritha and Bellampalli MLA Gaddam Vinod accompanied Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy during the visit.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said public welfare and state development remained the government’s primary objectives.

He added that the Indiramma housing programme received a strong response across Telangana. Therefore, the government continued efforts to provide dignified housing for poor families.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government was constructing Indiramma houses for tribal families in Kothari village. As a result, tribal communities would receive permanent housing support.

Indiramma housing programme focuses on poor families

The Minister said the government was implementing welfare schemes such as Mahalakshmi, Gruhajyothi, ration cards, Indira Mahila Shakti and Rajiv Aarogyasri with special focus on women.

He further stated that the government recognised women as the foundation of every family through these welfare initiatives.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy assured that officials would sanction houses to every eligible poor family during the second phase of the Indiramma housing programme.

Moreover, he said people need not worry about housing allotments under the scheme.

Later, the Minister distributed accreditation cards to eligible print and electronic media journalists for the 2026-28 term at the Integrated District Collectorate complex.

Officials, public representatives and department staff attended the programme.
