Adluri inspects Gurukul institutions, orders immediate action on student issues

Hyderabad: Social Welfare Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar on Thursday conducted surprise inspections at Gurukul institutions in Hyderabad and directed officials to immediately resolve issues affecting students, including drinking water supply.

The Minister inspected the TGSWREIS Women’s Law College at Chaitanyapuri, the Residential Degree College (RDC) at Ibrahimpatnam and the Girls Gurukul School at Saroor Nagar.

Interacting with students, Adluri reviewed academic standards, hostel management, food quality, drinking water, sanitation, security and teaching facilities. Students informed him that three institutions functioning on the same campus were facing drinking water shortages.

The Minister immediately spoke to the Ranga Reddy District Collector and directed officials to provide a permanent drinking water connection through the Mission Bhagiratha pipeline. Meanwhile, he instructed them to arrange alternative water supply without delay to ensure students did not face inconvenience.

Gurukul institutions to receive priority attention

Later, Adluri inspected hostel rooms, the dining hall, kitchen, classrooms, library, laboratories, toilets and sanitation facilities. He also reviewed food quality, hygiene standards and implementation of the prescribed menu. Students told him they were receiving quality meals as per the approved menu.

The Minister encouraged students to report any problems without hesitation. He said their suggestions would help the government improve the institutions.

During a separate meeting with teachers, Adluri said they played a crucial role in shaping students’ futures. He urged them to work with dedication and uphold the trust parents placed in Gurukul institutions.

Further, the Minister said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had accorded top priority to the education of Dalit, Tribal and other disadvantaged students. He said the government was constructing integrated Gurukul campuses with modern infrastructure to strengthen the residential education system.

He also recalled that the government had increased diet and cosmetic charges to improve students’ living standards and welfare.

Referring to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision, Adluri said education remained the foundation of social equality. He added that Gurukul institutions should emerge as centres of social transformation and called on teachers to guide students towards higher goals.

The Minister reiterated that the government would continue monitoring student welfare and conducting surprise inspections to resolve issues promptly. TGSWREIS FAC Secretary Kambhampati Sharada, State Officer Nirmala and principals of the inspected institutions accompanied him during the visit.
