Hyderabad: Special Chief Secretary for Transport and R&B Vikas Raj directed officials to ensure foolproof Independence Day arrangements at Golconda Fort. The celebrations will take place on Saturday.
Vikas Raj inspected the venue on Thursday along with senior officials from the departments concerned. He reviewed preparations and asked officials to speed up pending works.
The review covered arrangements for the monsoon conditions. Officials discussed waterproof shamianas, a waterproof generator and uninterrupted power supply.
Drinking water, barricading and galleries also featured in the review. Officials also examined seating arrangements for guests, students and the public.
Vikas Raj directed officials to ensure the programme ran smoothly. He also asked them to prevent any inconvenience to people attending the celebrations.
The Special Chief Secretary stressed strict compliance with protocol. He instructed officials to avoid lapses during the programme and expedite stage arrangements.
He also directed officials to complete beautification works quickly. The instructions covered all pending tasks at the venue.
Independence Day arrangements focus on students and VIPs
A large number of students from government and private schools across the district will attend the celebrations. Vikas Raj therefore directed officials to make adequate arrangements for their convenience.
He asked Education department officials to assign a liaison officer to every vehicle carrying students. The officers will coordinate arrangements related to the students’ transport.
The Chief Minister, Ministers, dignitaries and public representatives will also attend the celebrations. Vikas Raj directed officials to make elaborate arrangements for their participation.
He asked the departments concerned to complete all works meticulously and on a priority basis. The directions covered arrangements for the venue, guests, students and the public.
Vikas Raj and senior officials also witnessed the police guard of honour and parade. Police personnel will present the guard of honour and parade to the Chief Minister.
The Special Chief Secretary reviewed the Independence Day arrangements with officials ahead of Saturday’s programme. He directed the departments concerned to complete the remaining works without delay.
Officials continued preparations at Golconda Fort following the directions issued during the inspection. The arrangements included seating, power supply, water, barricading and sound systems.
