Hyderabad: Government Whip and Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) of misleading people and avoiding key debates in the Telangana Assembly.
Speaking at the Legislative Assembly Media Point, Veeresham called the BRS a party of lies. He also accused KTR of becoming an “all-India leader of lies”.
Veeresham alleged that KTR, who had returned from the United States, was dismissing media reports backed by evidence as AI-generated images or morphed photographs. He accused the BRS leader of misleading the public through such claims.
The Nakrekal MLA also questioned whether KTR and former minister Harish Rao lacked knowledge of Assembly rules despite their long experience in the House.
He criticised their alleged conduct toward police personnel during recent Assembly-related incidents. According to Veeresham, public representatives should follow legislative norms and maintain the dignity of constitutional institutions.
Vemula Veeresham targets KTR over 22-A land debate
Veeresham alleged that KTR avoided the discussion on alleged irregularities involving 22-A lands because he lacked the courage to respond to the issues in the Assembly.
He also accused the previous BRS government of large-scale land exploitation and destruction during its decade in power. The MLA alleged that KTR and his relatives occupied hundreds of acres of valuable land in the name of logistics parks.
The Congress government would conduct comprehensive inquiries into every alleged land scam from the previous administration, Veeresham said. He added that the government would place the facts before the public.
Meanwhile, Veeresham contrasted the two parties’ approaches to governance. He described the BRS record as one of alleged land exploitation and destructive governance.
By contrast, he said the Congress government focused on public welfare and comprehensive development. He made the remarks while addressing reporters at the Assembly Media Point.
