Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender said he will start a padayatra from the 27th of this month over the Jawahar Nagar dumping yard issue. He added that he was not in a position to compromise on the matter.
Rajender spoke at a round table meeting at Haritha Plaza on Sunday. The meeting aimed to control pollution at the dumping yard and find a permanent solution to its problems. Intellectuals, environmentalists and dumping yard victims took part, while Professor Murali Manohar presided.
Rajender says Jawahar Nagar residents risk their lives
According to Rajender, people in Jawahar Nagar were living at the risk of their lives. He also said that even court verdicts were not being implemented due to the money and influence of the Ramky company. Further, he alleged that the rulers were indifferent to people’s problems. He added that people were losing faith in the laws.
Rajender claimed that Ramky’s CSR money was being spent in other states instead of on drinking water and roads for local residents. He demanded that garbage dumping centres be set up with zero-pollution technology. Garbage can also be used to generate electricity, biogas and organic manure, he said.
