Hyderabad: Government Whip Aadi Srinivas on Thursday blamed the BRS and BJP for Assembly disruptions that he said had wasted valuable House time. He alleged that both opposition parties were creating disturbances inside and outside the Telangana Assembly.
Speaking to the media at the Assembly media point, Srinivas said the government wanted discussions on public issues. He added that it was also making efforts to find solutions to those issues.
However, he accused the opposition parties of adopting political tactics instead of participating constructively in the proceedings. According to Srinivas, their actions had disrupted the functioning of the House.
“Three days of the Assembly session have already been wasted. The opposition parties should stop indulging in petty politics and focus on public issues,” he said.
Assembly disruptions linked to separate BRS, BJP demands
Srinivas accused the BRS of being unwilling to participate in a discussion concerning the alleged insult to the Speaker. Meanwhile, he accused the BJP of attempting to create a ruckus over a separate issue.
He said the BJP had demanded a discussion on matters concerning lands listed under Section 22-A. According to Srinivas, the party’s actions over the demand had contributed to the Assembly disruptions.
The Government Whip maintained that the government was prepared to take up issues concerning the public. He urged the opposition parties to focus on such matters instead of disrupting proceedings.
“The government is ready to discuss every public issue and find solutions,” Srinivas said.
