Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Wednesday said the Telangana government would develop government schools on par with corporate educational institutions across the State.
The Minister made the remarks after inaugurating the Foundation for Democratic Reforms (FDR) Science Centre at the ZP Girls’ High School in Alwal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
He said the government was giving priority to education and healthcare. Besides, it was promoting scientific temper and creativity among students.
Government schools to promote innovation and scientific temper
Sridhar Babu said the State was creating an ecosystem that encourages innovation. Further, he said the government was helping young people transform ideas into products with practical applications.
Meanwhile, the Minister said institutions such as T-Hub, T-Works and WE-Hub were supporting innovators by providing the required ecosystem.
He urged students to develop a scientific outlook by questioning, exploring and finding solutions to real-life problems. According to him, innovation and skills would play a key role in the future.
Further, Sridhar Babu appealed to the Foundation for Democratic Reforms to establish similar science centres in government schools across Telangana. He also assured the organisation of the State government’s full support for the initiative.
Members of Parliament Eatala Rajender and Vijayendra Prasad, FDR General Secretary Jayaprakash Narayan and other dignitaries attended the programme.
