Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr. Sravan Dasoju alleged a HYDRAA mining scam and demanded the immediate dismissal of Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
He made the remarks at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday. He accused the ruling party of large-scale illegal mining and official collusion.
HYDRAA mining scam allegations raised
Dasoju questioned the change in HYDRAA’s stand on action against a stone crusher unit. He said the agency issued a statement in the morning and withdrew it within hours.
He asked why officials reversed their position in three hours. He also questioned whether pressure influenced the decision.
Further, he said officers must remain accountable to the Constitution. He alleged that misleading the public to shield the guilty was a serious offence.
Dasoju demanded criminal cases against officials, including the Collector and police. He alleged they ignored illegal mining operations worth hundreds of crores.
HYDRAA mining scam and delay claims
He said BRS leaders had raised the issue earlier. He added that a complaint was submitted weeks before the reported action.
However, he questioned why authorities delayed action for nearly 60 days. He alleged selective enforcement of rules against common citizens.
Dasoju also accused associates of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of links to illegal mining activity. He claimed violations near the Outer Ring Road went unchecked.
He further alleged that illegal hoardings generated large revenues without approval. He said such activities posed risks to commuters.
Demands over HYDRAA mining scam
Dasoju demanded the dismissal of Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy from the Cabinet. He also sought a CBI inquiry into the alleged mining scam.
Additionally, he called for recovery of public money and confiscation of properties. He demanded arrests of officials accused of facilitating illegal mining.
He said the party would continue its protest until accountability was ensured.
