Hyderabad: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) clarified that reports alleging theft or disappearance of coal were not based on facts and said its Singareni coal transportation system operates under extensive digital monitoring and security mechanisms.
In a statement, SCCL said it manages coal production, stock maintenance, transportation and sales through technology-driven systems.
Moreover, the company monitors every stage of coal movement from the mines to the end consumer.
Senior Operations Department officials said SCCL digitally records and tracks coal from production to delivery.
Railways transport nearly 85 per cent of the company’s coal output.
Road transport carries the remaining 15 per cent.
Additionally, an SAP-based system records consumer details, mine allocations, quantities and supply schedules in advance.
Singareni coal transportation uses multiple monitoring systems
Meanwhile, Planning Department officials said electronic weighbridges weigh every vehicle transporting coal by road.
RFID-based boom barriers monitor vehicle movements.
GPS, GPRS tracking systems and geo-fencing technology provide real-time tracking.
Furthermore, the system immediately identifies any deviation from approved routes.
Senior Coal Transportation Department officials said SCCL digitally records loading and dispatch details of every railway wagon.
They added that CCTV surveillance, RFID systems, check-posts and flying squads maintain round-the-clock monitoring.
Security personnel keep watch over mines, coal handling plants, weighbridges, railway sidings and stockyards.
They also monitor all entry and exit points.
In addition, teams conduct surprise inspections and special security patrols regularly.
The management said Singareni coal transportation relies on RFID, GPS, CCTV surveillance, Coal Net and electronic weighbridges.
Flying squads, security teams, hologram challans and task force monitoring systems provide additional layers of protection.
Therefore, the company maintained that allegations of coal theft or missing stocks do not reflect the actual systems in place.
