Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy conducted an extensive aerial survey of Mahabubnagar irrigation projects on Thursday and reviewed the progress of key water infrastructure initiatives across the region.
The survey covered the Koilsagar Project, proposed barrages on the Krishna and Bhima rivers and the Priyadarshini Jurala Project dam.
During the visit, the Chief Minister assessed ongoing irrigation development works and reviewed project-related infrastructure in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district.
The inspection formed part of the government’s efforts to monitor irrigation projects and strengthen water resources management in the region.
Mahabubnagar irrigation projects come under review
After the aerial survey, Revanth Reddy visited the Gudemdoddi reservoir and the JNLIS Stage-I pump house in Dharur mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district.
He also reviewed the ongoing development of the Maktal-Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the status of construction works and operational requirements of the projects.
Furthermore, the visit enabled the government to assess the progress of irrigation infrastructure intended to support agricultural and drinking water needs.
Mahabubnagar irrigation projects discussed at high-level meeting
Concluding the tour, Revanth Reddy chaired a high-level review meeting at Somasila.
The meeting focused on the status of major irrigation projects located across the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district.
Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Damodara Raja Narasimha, Jupally Krishna Rao and Vakiti Srihari accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
Planning Board Vice Chairman Chinnareddy, former Karnataka minister Bosuraju, MLAs, MLCs, corporation chairpersons and senior officials also participated in the review.
The discussions examined ongoing works and future plans related to irrigation infrastructure development in the district.
