Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said Telangana is working to become a global aerospace and defence hub, with the Raksha Expo 2026 supporting that industrial push. He said investment security, reliable power, faster approvals and skilled workers would remain key government priorities.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the government also wants new investments to create jobs for local youth and business opportunities for smaller industries. Transparent policies, sound financial planning and uninterrupted electricity are essential for sustained industrial growth, he added.
He was addressing the Raksha Expo Curtain Raiser at Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. The programme was held as part of the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy attended the programme along with Ministers Captain N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and D. Sridhar Babu. Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari, Dr Satheesh Reddy, Consul General Laura Williams, senior officials, scientists and industrialists also participated.
The Deputy Chief Minister said investment announcements alone cannot be treated as development. Their real value must be reflected in higher production, orders for local enterprises and sustainable livelihoods for families.
He said precision and reliability are especially important in aerospace manufacturing. Even a small component can protect hundreds of lives, although passengers may never know which company produced it.
According to him, public administration must operate with the same discipline. Government systems build credibility when they discharge their responsibilities consistently, even without public recognition.
He said Telangana would need similar precision in governance to secure a leading position in aerospace and defence. Industrial manufacturing often depends on micron-level measurements, making delays elsewhere in the system costly.
Uncertainty over approvals, payments or electricity connections could put months of production at risk, he said. Therefore, government services must match the speed and reliability required by industries.
Bhatti Vikramarka said coordination between Finance, Planning and Energy was vital for industrial expansion. He holds responsibility for all three portfolios.
Industries need predictable financial policies as well as dependable electricity, he said. The government is preparing plans to expand renewable energy, strengthen the power grid and develop energy storage systems.
He said increasing solar generation alone would not meet industrial requirements. Factories must receive reliable electricity when production schedules demand it. The government must apply similar discipline while spending public money, he said. Every incentive and subsidy carries a financial cost and must deliver a clear public benefit.
He said development should be judged by whether investments increase output and improve skills. They should also create business for local enterprises and jobs that support families.
Young people, he said, may have talent without having equal opportunities to prove it. A young woman studying in a government college could develop into a highly skilled aerospace technician with the right support.
Modern training equipment, apprenticeships and employers willing to recognise talent are therefore essential, he said. Under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the government is providing skill training through the Skills University and Advanced Technology Centres.
Bhatti Vikramarka urged industries to support those initiatives. He said a young person’s first training opportunity and first job could change both individual prospects and a family’s economic position.
Raksha Expo to promote local suppliers and apprenticeships
The Deputy Chief Minister asked industrialists to make apprenticeships and local supplier development part of their investment plans. Small industries should receive opportunities to improve their capabilities and meet required quality standards, he said.
He also urged companies to give young people their first professional experience. Such opportunities, he said, would help connect investment with employment and local economic growth.
Bhatti Vikramarka called for greater attention to research, design and advanced technology. Manufacturing capacity should expand alongside the ability to acquire, understand and apply new technologies, he said.
He said a strong industrial ecosystem also depends on communities continuously improving their knowledge and skills. That expertise must then be passed on to future generations.
The Deputy Chief Minister invited industrialists and experts to participate in the Raksha Expo scheduled for December 7, 8 and 9. He asked them to offer suggestions on government policies and areas where administrative systems could improve.
He also encouraged participants to explore partnerships that could continue after the exhibition. Decisions taken at the event, he said, could eventually create a first-job opportunity for a young person who was not present at the meeting.
Bhatti Vikramarka urged stakeholders to work together to turn such possibilities into employment. Bhatti said industrial growth must translate into tangible opportunities for local youth and businesses.
He congratulated Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy for overseeing the Raksha Expo and bringing leading industrialists onto a common platform. He also acknowledged Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and the Chief Secretary.
Bhatti Vikramarka reiterated that the government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, wants to attract more industries to Telangana. It also aims to create a favourable investment climate and use Hyderabad’s infrastructure, talent and skilled workforce to strengthen the state’s global industrial position.
