Yadadri Thermal Power Plant reaches milestone as KTR credits KCR’s vision

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) hailed the successful grid connection of the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant’s fifth unit as a major milestone in Telangana’s power sector.

The former minister said the development reflected the state’s progress in electricity generation. He also credited former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for initiating projects aimed at strengthening Telangana’s power infrastructure.

KTR said the latest achievement demonstrated the results of measures taken since Telangana’s formation to overcome electricity shortages and move towards a power-surplus position. He described the successful integration of the fifth unit with the power grid as a matter of pride for Telangana.

Yadadri Thermal Power Plant reflects KCR’s vision: KTR

KTR attributed the development of the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant to KCR’s long-term planning and vision for the electricity sector. He said the project was conceived to bring major changes to power generation and ensure uninterrupted electricity for industries, agriculture and households.

According to KTR, the project took shape under KCR’s leadership, while electricity department officials worked continuously towards its completion. He credited the former chief minister’s planning and the efforts of power sector officials for the project’s successful execution and grid integration.

KTR maintained that the plant would play a significant role in meeting Telangana’s growing electricity requirements. KTR said Telangana’s electricity sector had expanded rapidly over the previous decade.

He recalled that the state had earlier faced frequent power cuts and shortages. However, he said its power capacity had since reached 20,000 megawatts. He attributed the expansion to the commitment and determination of the previous administration to improve electricity infrastructure.

KTR said the successful operation of the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant would further support Telangana’s economic development and improve the quality of electricity supply. He added that the project’s progress represented another important step towards achieving self-sufficiency in the state’s power sector.
