Ponnam Prabhakar offers prayers at Khairatabad Ganesh on Vinayaka Chavithi

Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar offered special prayers at the Khairatabad Ganesh on Vinayaka Chavithi. He prayed for the well-being, health and prosperity of people across Telangana.

The minister also prayed for the state’s prosperity and a good harvest. He said the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh had a 72-year history and a distinctive legacy.

Ponnam Prabhakar said the Khairatabad Ganesh had gained recognition across Telangana and the country. Every year, he added, lakhs of devotees visited the idol.

For this year’s celebrations, the government made arrangements for peaceful and devotional festivities. It also held two rounds of meetings with festival committees in and around Khairatabad.

During those meetings, officials reviewed arrangements needed for the smooth conduct of the celebrations. Several departments also coordinated efforts to assist devotees.

The GHMC, police, endowments, electricity, water works, medical and traffic departments worked together on the arrangements. Their efforts focused on preventing inconvenience to devotees.

Khairatabad Ganesh celebrations get coordinated arrangements

Meanwhile, the government made extensive security arrangements for the immersion. Officials focused on traffic management, sanitation, drinking water, electricity and medical services.

Ponnam Prabhakar said the government had provided free electricity to Ganesh pandals for the past three years. He also recalled the government’s arrangements for the Bonalu celebrations.

During the Ashada month, the government had organised special prayers for the goddess, he said. At the ongoing Ganapathi Navaratri celebrations, the minister also prayed for good rains and abundant crops.

The minister said the government was effectively dealing with the natural calamities faced by the state. He prayed for the health, happiness and well-being of all people.

According to Ponnam Prabhakar, the Ganesh celebrations should strengthen devotion, unity and brotherhood among people. He also urged devotees and Ganesh pandal organisers to cooperate with the government.

He appealed to organisers and devotees to conduct immersion activities peacefully and responsibly. Environmental protection should also remain a priority during the immersion, he said.

Ponnam Prabhakar prayed for Telangana’s prosperity and wished people happiness, good health and prosperity with the blessings of Lord Ganesh.
