Vakiti Srihari inspects Rs 250 crore integrated residential school project in Makthal

Hyderabad: Minister Vakiti Srihari inspected the site of the Rs 250-crore integrated residential school project in Makthal on Monday. The project has an estimated cost of Rs 250 crore.

During his visit, Srihari sought details from officials about the construction work. He also reviewed the proposed site and the progress of preparations.

The minister said Makthal had abundant natural resources but remained backward in agriculture, education and healthcare. He blamed the alleged neglect of earlier elected representatives for the region’s development lag.

Srihari said nearly Rs 2,000 crore worth of works had received approval for the constituency in the past two-and-a-half years. Several of those projects had already entered the construction stage, he said.

He cited the integrated residential school and the 150-bed hospital as major development projects. Srihari said these works would demonstrate the development taking place in Makthal despite opposition criticism.

Makthal residential school to provide facilities for 2,000 students

The minister described the Rs 250-crore institution as a major step in Makthal’s development. The school will accommodate 2,000 students, with facilities designed at a corporate level, he said.

Srihari said he wanted to develop Makthal into an education hub in the coming years. He said the new institution would contribute to that goal.

The minister directed officials and the contractor to maintain quality standards during construction. He also ordered them to complete the Makthal residential school within the stipulated timeframe.
