Hyderabad: A Congress leader set up a unique Ganesh pandal themed on the 1000 days Praja Palana of the Congress government in Telangana. The display featured a statue of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lifting a Ganesh idol.

Congress leader Mettu Sai Kumar organised the special pandal. Meanwhile, the statue attracted attention from devotees and visitors during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

The display drew inspiration from a scene in the film Bahubali. In that scene, a character lifts a Shiva lingam. Similarly, organisers created a representation of Revanth Reddy lifting Lord Ganesha.

Across Telangana, Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations were held with religious fervour. At the same time, Ganesh pandals attracted devotees in several localities.

Against this backdrop, the themed pandal stood out for its political message. Organisers also placed flex banners and boards around the venue.

The displays highlighted welfare and development programmes of the Congress government. In addition, organisers showcased the six guarantees implemented by the government.

1000 days Praja Palana theme highlights welfare schemes

The displays featured Mahalakshmi, farmer loan waiver, Gruha Jyothi and Cheyutha. They also highlighted programmes related to electricity, employment and livelihood opportunities.

Furthermore, school development programmes featured among the welfare measures showcased at the venue. Organisers designed the premises to explain these programmes to devotees and visitors.

However, the unusual idol attracted attention beyond the festival celebrations. As a result, the statue and its political theme became a subject of discussion locally.

The distinctive display continued to draw the attention of people visiting the Ganesh pandal.
