Mangalhat murder case: Seven held over Sainath Singh’s death

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police arrested seven people in connection with the Mangalhat murder case involving the death of 24-year-old Sainath Singh. Police also seized six mobile phones and two two-wheelers during the investigation.

The deceased was a resident of the Shivlal Nagar area in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad. His sister Sony Singh, 26, lodged a complaint on 28-09-2026 alleging that known persons had killed her brother at Raheempura in Mangalhat.

Police registered a case based on the complaint and began investigating the allegations. The press note states that investigators examined CCTV footage and identified the accused persons during the probe.

On 30-09-2026, Mangalhat police apprehended seven accused after receiving credible information. Police identified them as Chidiyawale Anisha Singh, Makhan Badal Singh, Akash Singh, Abhishek, Poojari Lakhan Singh, Akshay Singh alias Akashay and Degan Nanditha alias Nandini.

The accused were brought to the police station for further enquiry. According to the police press note, the accused voluntarily confessed to their involvement in the alleged offence.

The complaint alleged that the incident was connected to a relationship between Anisha Singh and the deceased. Police said the allegations were being examined as part of the investigation.

According to investigators, Anisha Singh had allegedly been in an illicit relationship with Sainath Singh for three to four years. The press note said her husband and family members had allegedly warned Sainath several times to stop contacting her.

Police further stated that Sainath allegedly continued communicating with Anisha through social media. The investigation also found that Anisha and her family members had allegedly approached Sainath’s family about the continued contact.

Mangalhat murder case led to seven arrests

The police press note stated that the continuing dispute allegedly led Anisha to plan the killing with the other accused. Investigators alleged that the accused called Sainath to Anisha’s mother’s house at Raheempura on 28-09-2026.

According to the police account, the accused allegedly assaulted Sainath with their hands and legs. They further alleged that the accused strangulated him using a chunni belonging to Anisha, causing his death.

The press note identified the alleged motive as the continuing dispute over Sainath’s contact with Anisha. These details represent the investigating agency’s account of the circumstances surrounding the death.

Police seized six cell phones and two two-wheelers during the investigation. The vehicles were identified as a Mastreo and an Activa.

The press note also listed previous cases involving some of the accused. Anisha Singh had previously been involved in a case registered under the NDPS Act at Mangalhat police station, according to the document.

Makhan Badal Singh was previously involved in multiple cases registered at Mangalhat police station under the Telangana Gaming Act and Telangana Excise Act. The listed cases were registered between 2024 and 2026.

Poojari Lakhan Singh had previously been involved in a 2009 case under Section 324 of the IPC at Begum Bazar police station. The document also listed a 2023 NDPS Act case at Mangalhat police station against him.

All seven accused were arrested and were being produced before the court, according to the police press note. The document states that the investigation was continuing.

The arrests were made under the supervision and guidance of DCP Golconda Zone J. Raghavender Reddy and ACP Kulsumpura Division V. Tirupathi. Mangalhat SHO S. Raghvendra, DI P. Mahender, SI B. Naresh and other police staff assisted in the investigation.
