Hyderabad: Kulsumpura Police conducted a coordination and peace committee meeting on October 8, 2026, ahead of the upcoming Bathukamma and Dussehra festivities. The Kulsumpura festival peace meeting focused on ensuring peaceful celebrations and coordinating arrangements for Durga Mata pandals, processions and Ravana Dahanam events.
Golconda Zone DCP Raghavendra Reddy chaired the meeting alongside Kulsumpura ACP Tirupati and police officers from the division. Around 100 festival organisers, local community leaders and Peace Committee members participated in the discussions.
Police urged organisers and community representatives to coordinate closely with the department to maintain law and order. They also stressed the importance of preventing disturbances and preserving communal harmony throughout the celebrations.
Kulsumpura festival peace meeting outlines safety guidelines
The DCP directed organisers to follow police guidelines for pandal installations, sound levels and permitted operating hours for sound systems and DJs. Meanwhile, officials instructed organisers to use designated routes and follow agreed schedules for idol immersions and Bathukamma processions.
Organisers planning Ravana Dahanam events were asked to ensure adequate space and take necessary fire safety and electrical precautions. In addition, police advised mandap organisers to install CCTV cameras at pandal premises as a precautionary security measure.
The station house officer urged residents to celebrate the festivals with traditional fervour and mutual harmony. Police also asked the public to report suspicious activities or concerns promptly to their local police station.
