Rahul Gandhi birthday event highlights childcare initiatives
Addressing the gathering, Seethakka said the centres would benefit urban and working-class families, particularly women employed in the unorganised sector.
She noted that many women miss employment opportunities because of childcare responsibilities. Therefore, the new centres would provide safe and accessible childcare services. The Minister said children between seven months and three years could enrol in the facilities and continue receiving developmental support through the Anganwadi system.
Furthermore, she stressed that the first 1,000 days of a child’s life remain critical for physical, mental and intellectual development. She urged parents to utilise the services and ensure eligible children receive proper care and nutrition.
Seethakka also said the state government had extended nearly ₹61,000 crore in interest-free loans to women’s self-help groups and encouraged women to pursue entrepreneurship opportunities.
Officials informed the gathering that Hyderabad district would have five Anganwadi-cum-Crèche centres under Mission Shakti with support from Mobile Crèches and SBI Foundation. The centres are located at Balkampet-2, Arogyanagar, Chilakalaguda, ACS Nagar and Arundhati Nagar-2.
Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Saifullah said Rahul Gandhi’s vision of inclusive development, constitutional values and social justice had strengthened public confidence, particularly among youth, women and disadvantaged communities.
