Hyderabad: Keesara police busted a Keesara land grabbing racket involving forged documents and fraudulent property registrations, and arrested multiple accused linked to two cases. The action followed complaints about illegal land transfers through impersonation and fabricated records.
Police registered cases on March 16 and 17 after receiving complaints from Keshaboina Ramadevi and Madanu Madhuri. They alleged that accused persons illegally transferred their properties using fake documents, including forged death certificates and fabricated family records. As a result, the Keesara land grabbing racket came to light during the probe.
Police booked cases as Crime Nos. 241/2026 and 248/2026 under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They then formed special teams to trace and arrest those involved in the fraud.
Keesara land grabbing racket used forged documents and impersonation
In Crime No. 241/2026, the key accused included Kanakati Lingaiah Goud, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, along with Praveen Reddy, Modem Sampath and Kamble Deepa. Similarly, in Crime No. 248/2026, the accused included Uppala Venu, Donapati Venkat Reddy, Gundiga Jyothi and Maadanu Innaiah.
Police said the accused confessed during interrogation and admitted their roles. They explained that they carried out the crimes through a planned conspiracy. Moreover, the Keesara land grabbing racket relied on forged documents and impersonation to complete illegal registrations.
Investigators said the accused targeted vacant or vulnerable plots. They created fake death certificates and fabricated family records to pose as legal heirs or original owners. Subsequently, they executed fraudulent sale deeds and gift settlement deeds to transfer ownership for wrongful gain.
Police seized mobile phones and forged property documents, including sale deeds and gift deeds. Notably, the Keesara land grabbing racket involved systematic fabrication of records to mislead both authorities and victims.
Police remanded all arrested accused to judicial custody. Meanwhile, teams continued efforts to trace and arrest the remaining accused who are absconding. Additionally, officials expanded the investigation to uncover further links.
Officials said they will continue strict action against such offences. They also advised citizens to verify property documents thoroughly before entering any transaction linked to the Keesara land grabbing racket.
Senior officers, including DCP Malkajgiri CH. Sridhar, IPS, supervised the operation. ACP S. Chakrapani and Keesara SHO A. Anjaneyulu led field efforts. Officials said they would recommend rewards for the team for swift detection and recovery.
