Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha said she would hold a meeting in Kodangal on September 20 to expose alleged corruption under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Kavitha said the Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha would take place in the Chief Minister’s constituency. She said the meeting would place what she described as his “list of corruption” before the public.
The former parliamentarian and former MLC also described Revanth Reddy as the “president of the blackmailers’ association.” Moreover, she accused him of using the Assembly to project his own image.
Kavitha compared his conduct in the House to a solo performance by actor Kamal Haasan. She questioned his statements about why he would need commissions when God had given him everything.
Kavitha levels Revanth Reddy corruption allegations
Kavitha alleged that the Chief Minister had people around him who facilitated corruption. She also levelled allegations against several ministers over different sectors.
She linked Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy with alleged irregularities concerning 22-A lands. Furthermore, she accused Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy of involvement in commissions through irrigation projects.
Kavitha also levelled allegations against Seethakka over sand. She accused the Chief Minister of presiding over what she described as a corrupt administration.
According to Kavitha, Revanth Reddy had earlier misused the Right to Information Act to threaten real estate businessmen. She alleged that people would choose him as president if Telangana formed an association of blackmailers.
Kavitha also referred to the cash-for-vote controversy. She accused Revanth Reddy of involvement in a cash deal with people from Andhra Pradesh to destabilise the Telangana government.
She argued that his actions did not match his statements. Moreover, Kavitha described his performance while holding the Education and Home portfolios as an “utter failure.” The Telangana Rakshana Sena chief alleged that Revanth Reddy aligned with either the BJP or BRS whenever it suited his interests.
Revanth Reddy corruption charge linked to Siddipet land
Kavitha also levelled allegations involving former minister T. Harish Rao and land in Siddipet. She alleged that authorities removed prohibited land from the restricted list before Harish Rao registered 100 acres in his father’s name.
Kavitha challenged the Congress government to act on the alleged transaction. She said she would provide all evidence concerning the land transfer.
She specifically challenged Revanth Reddy and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy to initiate action. According to her, failure to act would raise questions about an understanding between the Chief Minister and Harish Rao. Kavitha alleged that Revanth Reddy was protecting Harish Rao. She used the expressions “gang leader” and “jackal” while referring to the two leaders.
She further claimed that the previous BRS government had indulged in even greater corruption than the current Congress administration. At the same time, Kavitha accused the present government of corruption across sectors, ranging from the Musi project to sand.
Kavitha also criticised both the ruling Congress and principal Opposition BRS over recent developments at the Telangana Assembly.
She said she had felt distressed as a former parliamentarian and former MLC after witnessing events over the past few days. According to her, the ruling and Opposition sides had traded abuses instead of discussing public problems.
She also referred to remarks directed at the Speaker during the confrontation. Kavitha argued that cooperation between ruling and Opposition legislators could resolve problems affecting lakhs of people.
Instead, she accused both Congress and BRS of wasting public money and playing with people’s lives. Kavitha also criticised BJP legislators. She claimed some BJP members supported the BRS while others backed the Congress.
However, she alleged that none of the parties had made a serious effort to resolve public problems.
The Telangana Rakshana Sena chief also questioned the BRS over its conduct in the Legislative Council. She asked why the party had not challenged the government there after suspensions in the Assembly.
Kavitha questioned why BRS members had staged a walkout from the Council. She also asked whether they would attend legislative proceedings only while in power. She alleged that the principal Opposition had failed to challenge the Chief Minister when he made what she described as false statements in the Assembly.
Kavitha also accused Revanth Reddy of trying to portray himself as being responsible for establishing the Telangana Thalli statue despite having no connection with the Telangana movement.
She reiterated that the Chief Minister’s words and actions did not match. Finally, Kavitha said the September 20 meeting in Kodangal would focus on the Revanth Reddy corruption allegations and place them before the public.
