EC approves Kavitha’s TRS as Telangana Rakshana Sena

Hyderabad: The Election Commission approved the name Telangana Rakshana Sena for the political party led by K. Kavitha. The decision marked a fresh development in Telangana politics.

Election Commission authorities issued official orders recognising the party name. Officials also handed over the approval letter to Kavitha at her residence in Banjara Hills on Thursday.

Earlier this month, Kavitha announced the party name Telangana Rashtra Sena during a meeting at Advaya Convention in Medchal on April 25. However, the Election Commission later suggested certain changes to the proposed name.

The Commission subsequently approved the revised party name for registration. Meanwhile, the approval triggered political discussion because of similarities linked to the earlier TRS identity in Telangana politics.

Telangana Rakshana Sena gets official party recognition

Election Commission officials personally visited Kavitha’s residence and delivered the official communication regarding the party approval.

Political observers said the recognition of the new party could lead to fresh political developments in the state. The move also attracted attention because the acronym TRS was earlier linked to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi before its name change.

Kavitha recently launched the political platform and announced plans to strengthen the organisation across Telangana. However, the party has not yet announced future political strategies or organisational appointments.

The Election Commission approval formally cleared the way for the party to function as a recognised political entity under Kavitha’s leadership.
