Hyderabad: The Telangana government appointed senior Congress leader and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao as BC Welfare Development Advisor with the rank of minister of state. The government issued official orders for the V Hanumantha Rao appointment on Thursday.
According to the orders, Hanumantha Rao will receive a monthly salary of Rs 1 lakh. Meanwhile, the government will provide a monthly house rent allowance of Rs 50,000 if it does not allot official quarters.
The government also approved several official benefits linked to the post. If he uses a private vehicle for official duties, he will receive Rs 30,000 as conveyance allowance. In addition, the government will provide Rs 15,000 towards fuel expenses.
Hanumantha Rao will also receive a government vehicle with a driver. Moreover, the government extended medical reimbursement facilities available to ministers and AIS officers.
V Hanumantha Rao appointment includes official staff support
The BC Welfare Department allotted dedicated staff to assist the advisor in official work. The team will include one private secretary, one data entry operator, two office subordinates, and one driver.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao stated in the orders that the BC Welfare Department would bear all expenses related to the appointment from its regular budget.
Officials said Hanumantha Rao’s long political experience would help the government frame welfare and development policies for Backward Classes in Telangana.
