Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad business hub credentials continue to strengthen as investors increasingly choose the city for business expansion and new investments.
Addressing the FTCCI Excellence Awards 2026 at JRC Convention Centre in Jubilee Hills, the Minister praised the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) for promoting entrepreneurship and supporting businesses across the state.
He said FTCCI had played a key role in nurturing a culture of excellence and enterprise in Telangana. The organisation, he added, had guided several entrepreneurs and helped them transform ideas into successful ventures.
Hyderabad business hub gains investor confidence
Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad had emerged as one of India’s most preferred destinations for business growth.
“Investors looking at India are increasingly looking at Hyderabad. This confidence stems from the policy continuity we have ensured despite changes in government,” he said.
The Minister noted that policy stability remained a major factor behind investor confidence. Although political ideologies may differ, he said the government remained committed to policies that support economic growth and public welfare.
Describing the awards event as a celebration of achievement, he said business success depends on resilience and adaptability.
Quoting industrialist Ratan Tata, the Minister said entrepreneurs should convert challenges into opportunities and continue moving forward despite setbacks.
Hyderabad business hub central to Telangana growth vision
Sridhar Babu said disruption had become a constant feature of the global business environment. Therefore, optimism and innovation were critical for long-term success.
He praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for maintaining a future-focused approach and said institutions such as FTCCI helped businesses navigate uncertainty.
Referring to Telangana’s long-term economic ambitions, the Minister highlighted the state’s target of becoming a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047.
He said many had expressed skepticism when the goal was announced. However, he stressed that strong support from industry and entrepreneurs could help transform the vision into reality.
The Minister said Telangana intended to lead India’s next phase of growth through sectors such as life sciences, manufacturing and deep technology.
“Telangana is not merely participating in India’s growth story but actively shaping and contributing to it,” he said.
Hyderabad business hub to attract 100 GCCs this year
Reiterating the government’s support for industry, Sridhar Babu said the administration viewed itself as a partner to entrepreneurs rather than merely a regulator.
He also addressed concerns raised by industry representatives regarding pending MSME incentives. The Minister said the state was undergoing financial restructuring but had already released part of the subsidies due to the sector.
He noted that Telangana had introduced its first dedicated MSME Policy and acknowledged FTCCI’s contribution to its formulation.
On workforce development, the Minister said the government was working to bridge skill gaps through initiatives such as a proposed Skill University and other capacity-building programmes.
Sridhar Babu further stated that Telangana aimed to attract 100 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) during the current year. The initiative, he said, would further strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a global business and innovation hub.
The Minister later presented FTCCI Excellence Awards 2026 across 15 categories to organisations and individuals for outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
