Harish Rao questions 24-hour power supply during Narsapur inspection

Hyderabad: Former minister and MLA T. Harish Rao, along with MLA Sunitha Laxma Reddy, conducted a surprise inspection of the Narsapur and Reddipalli power substations.

During the visit, Harish Rao checked the log books and questioned officials over the lack of 24-hour power supply to farmers. He asked how the government could promise round-the-clock power while officials supplied only 12 hours.

Later, speaking to the media, Harish Rao said the Narsapur substation records clearly showed limited power supply to farmers. He asked what local officials could do if power was not released from higher levels.

He said taking action against junior staff would not fix the issue. According to him, punishing assistant engineers or field officers made no sense when supply itself was short.

Harish Rao seeks real 24-hour power for farmers

Harish Rao said the government targeted small officials instead of fixing the real problem. He added that village panchayat tractors remained unused due to lack of diesel.

He said officials faced suspension when they explained that power was unavailable or funds were missing for diesel. Instead, he demanded that the government act honestly and provide steady 24-hour power supply to farmers.

The former minister said farmers needed reliable electricity, not claims on paper. He urged the government to correct system failures rather than blame field staff.
