Dasoju Sravan condemns political vendetta against Harish Rao in phone-tapping case

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Tuesday condemned the Congress-led government’s handling of the phone-tapping case involving former Minister T. Harish Rao. He described the probe as a political vendetta against Harish Rao and a direct misuse of power.

Criticising the seven-hour interrogation of Harish Rao, Sravan said the incident exposed the erosion of democratic norms in Telangana. “This is not Praja Palana,” he said. “It’s a distorted political drama.” He quoted Sun Tzu, saying, “An evil man will burn his own nation to the ground just to rule over the ashes.”

Sravan accuses Congress of misusing state power

Sravan claimed that the government began targeting Harish Rao after he revealed alleged corruption in Singareni Collieries. He directly blamed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for using state machinery to settle personal scores.

Furthermore, Sravan accused the government of turning the police into a political weapon. “Khaki is now serving those in Khadi,” he said. “This is a dangerous attack on democratic institutions.”

He also warned that the strategy of silencing critics through legal intimidation would ultimately fail. “Using police power to crush dissent reveals the weakness of this government,” he said. “Repression will only strengthen public resistance.”

Standing firmly with Harish Rao, Sravan declared that the BRS will not be shaken by political vendettas. “These dark days will pass,” he said. “Oppression breeds rebellion. Truth is like fire it always survives.”
