Damodar Rajanarsimha reviews trial run at TIMS Sanathnagar

Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha reviewed the TIMS Sanathnagar trial run on Monday and directed officials to develop the hospital into a comprehensive healthcare institution capable of providing complete medical services.

The minister held a review meeting at the Secretariat with senior Health Department officials, including Special Chief Secretary Christina Z Chongthu and other department heads.

Officials briefed the minister on medical services currently offered during the trial phase. They also explained the challenges and shortcomings identified during operations.

Damodar Rajanarsimha reviewed the functioning of OP registration counters, consultation rooms, waiting areas, diagnostic services, inpatient wards, operation theatres and intensive care units.

TIMS Sanathnagar trial run covers 22 departments

Officials informed the minister that 22 departments were offering OP services during the trial phase. They also said operation theatres were ready to conduct surgeries.

Authorities completed installation of CT Scan, MRI and digital X-ray equipment for diagnostic services. Officials said teams were conducting tests as part of the trial phase.

Damodar Rajanarsimha earlier directed officials to develop TIMS Sanathnagar as a Centre of Excellence for Cardiac Care and Organ Transplantation. During the review, he examined progress in establishing cath labs and organ transplant theatres.

Officials informed the minister that cath lab installation works were complete and ready for trial runs.

The minister also directed officials to strengthen sanitation and security services at the hospital. He instructed authorities to provide food facilities for patients and attendants and establish a dharmashala for attendants.
