Telangana government doctors call off strike after talks with minister

Hyderabad: The government doctors strike in Telangana was called off after the state government assured doctors that it would address their concerns related to transfers and service conditions.

The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) expressed satisfaction with the response of the government and Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha.

The association said the minister assured doctors that the government would work towards a fair resolution of their demands.

Government doctors strike withdrawn after assurance from minister

TGGDA reiterated its demand for transparent transfers in accordance with GO No. 38.

The association sought transfer opportunities for doctors who completed four years of service.

It also requested consideration for doctors eligible under the three-year priority category and the zero-spouse category.

In addition, TGGDA sought exemption from transfers for elected leaders of recognised associations as provided under GO No. 38.

Meanwhile, association leaders said they had full confidence in the government and the Health Minister following the discussions.

As a result, TGGDA announced the withdrawal of its proposed agitation programmes.

The association clarified that OP, IP and emergency services would continue without disruption across government hospitals.

It also said doctors would perform surgeries and other medical services as usual.

TGGDA stated that providing quality healthcare to the public remained its foremost responsibility.

The association assured patients that doctors would continue to provide services without causing inconvenience.
