Hyderabad: Congress workers who have worked hard for the party will receive due recognition, Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir said on Monday.
Speaking at a felicitation programme in Kamareddy, Shabbir Ali said opportunities might come late. However, he assured workers that the party would not deny them justice.
The programme took place at Classic Function Hall after Gudem Srinivas Reddy took oath as the new chairman of the Kamareddy Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS).
Earlier, Srinivas Reddy took the oath at the society office near Gopala Swamy temple in Kamareddy town. Shabbir Ali attended the ceremony as chief guest and congratulated the new chairman and directors.
He later felicitated them with shawls. The Telangana Government Advisor also said the party would provide more opportunities to leaders and workers who had served the Congress for years.
“The Congress will never forget workers who believed in the party and worked for it. Opportunities will come. There may be some delay, but no one will be treated unjustly,” he said.
Shabbir Ali said party workers had played a major role in bringing the Congress to power. He described them as the backbone of the organisation.
### Congress workers urged to strengthen farmers’ welfare through PACS
The Congress, he said, followed a policy of recognising workers who stood by the party during difficult periods. He also said the Congress government would continue supporting farmers and strengthening the agriculture sector.
“Congress means farmers, and farmers mean Congress,” Shabbir Ali said.
He said the party had a long history of protecting farmers’ interests. The government understood the difficulties faced by the farming community and continued working to address them, he added.
Shabbir Ali also referred to government measures aimed at strengthening agriculture and improving farmers’ financial security. He said the State and country could progress only when farmers prospered.
Addressing the new PACS chairman and directors, he urged them to remain accessible to farmers. He asked them to focus on resolving their problems.
PACS should serve as platforms for farmers’ welfare rather than merely political positions, Shabbir Ali said. He urged the cooperative society to provide necessary support and contribute to agricultural development.
Congratulating Gudem Srinivas Reddy on taking charge, Shabbir Ali asked him to work in a way that retained farmers’ trust. He also urged the directors to coordinate with one another and strengthen the cooperative society.
Former DCC president Kailasa Srinivasa Rao, Library Chairman Maddi Chandrakanth Reddy and PCC General Secretary Baddam Indrakaran Reddy attended the programme.
Kamareddy Municipal Chairperson Uma Srinivas, town Congress president Aireni Sandeep, municipal councillors, sarpanches, party leaders and workers were also present.
PACS representatives, farmers, supporters, newly elected chairman Gudem Srinivas Reddy and directors also participated in the programme.
