Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS deputy floor leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav attacked the State government over Congress unfulfilled promises on Friday. He questioned its claim of providing “Praja Palana” even after what he described as 1,000 days in office.
Talasani addressed a press conference at the MLA’s camp office in Jangaon. Local MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and other BRS leaders welcomed him before the press conference.
He alleged that Congress had deceived people by making “impractical” promises before coming to power. Moreover, he contrasted the present government’s performance with that of the previous BRS administration.
Talasani credited the BRS government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao with transforming Telangana. He cited round-the-clock electricity supply, irrigation projects and restoration of tanks among its initiatives.
He also referred to Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima and various welfare programmes implemented during the previous government’s tenure.
Congress unfulfilled promises questioned by Talasani
Talasani questioned why problems related to water and electricity had resurfaced under the Congress government. He also sought answers on several promises that he alleged had remained unimplemented.
The BRS leader referred to the promise of providing 10 grams of gold to beneficiaries of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak. He asked what had happened to that commitment.
Similarly, Talasani questioned the promise to provide scooters to female students. He also raised the promised monthly pension of Rs.6,000 for persons with disabilities.
The former minister criticised the government over pending fee reimbursement payments and scholarships. He alleged that delays had continued while other electoral commitments remained unfulfilled.
Talasani also raised objections to GO 97 and its implications for polytechnic colleges. He alleged that the order sought to merge polytechnic colleges with Skill University.
According to him, the proposed move was intended to enable the takeover of assets belonging to polytechnic colleges. He criticised the government over the issue and questioned its intentions.
Congress unfulfilled promises row extends to property issues
Talasani also questioned the inclusion of inherited properties in the 22-A prohibited properties list. In addition, he objected to the inclusion of houses and lands belonging to poor people.
The BRS leader accused the Congress leadership of giving greater priority to its party high command than to Telangana’s administration.
He said the BRS would expose what it considered the failures of the Congress government. Furthermore, he said the party would seek accountability from those responsible.
His criticism covered welfare commitments, power and water supply, educational assistance, polytechnic college assets and property-related issues.
