KTR condemns attack attempt on Janagaon MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy

Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao strongly condemned the alleged attack attempt on Janagaon MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy. He accused Congress leaders of indulging in open violence and blamed the state’s deteriorating law and order.

Reacting to the incident, KTR said Congress leaders behaved like street rowdies in broad daylight. He noted that the incident occurred in the presence of Minister Seethakka. He said the episode exposed the collapse of public order.

KTR alleged that while the Chief Minister remained abroad, Congress leaders created chaos on the ground. He said alcohol-fuelled behaviour had become routine even at official programmes.

He added that foundation stone-laying and inauguration events now required “drunk and drive” checks. According to him, such scenes reflected administrative failure.

KTR accused the government of encouraging criminal behaviour through its actions. He said this atmosphere had emboldened party workers. He added that neither the BRS nor Telangana society would tolerate factional politics.

Referring to recent local body polls, KTR said voters had already punished Congress in panchayat elections. He added that people would respond more firmly in the upcoming municipal polls.

Clash erupts during minister’s visit in Janagaon

The incident occurred during a ministerial visit to Janagaon, where officials launched development works. Congress leaders allegedly attempted to attack the MLA during the programme.

BRS leaders said supporters of Congress constituency in-charge and former MLA Kommuuri Pratap Reddy raised slogans. They alleged his son Prashanth Reddy and his supporters appeared intoxicated.

Tensions rose when BRS workers objected to the slogans. This led to arguments and pushing between cadres of both parties.

Police intervened and moved one Congress leader aside. However, BRS leaders claimed he continued to provoke the crowd.

During the disturbance, MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy questioned police over protocol violations. Following this, Circle Inspector Satyanarayana Reddy asked Congress workers to leave the venue.

Sources said Minister Seethakka expressed displeasure over the disruption. BRS leaders alleged that Congress workers repeatedly tried to derail the official programme despite appeals for calm.
