Hyderabad: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Thursday launched the Chhatron Ki Goonj campaign in Hyderabad, calling for a nationwide movement on student issues, education reforms and employment opportunities. The programme was held at the Somajiguda Press Club.
Adivasi Congress national chairman Dr. Vikrant Bhuria attended the event as the chief guest. TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, TPCC vice-president and Government Whip Dr. Balmoor Venkat, and NEET students also participated.
The leaders released posters and campaign material for the Chhatron Ki Goonj initiative. They also outlined plans for the nationwide programme.
Chhatron Ki Goonj focuses on student issues
Addressing the media, Dr. Vikrant Bhuria alleged that the BJP-led Central government had adopted anti-people policies that had created uncertainty for students, young people and the education sector.
He also alleged that the Centre had failed students and unemployed youth through examination paper leaks. According to him, Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi had launched a nationwide campaign to support students and young people on these issues.
Furthermore, Bhuria said the Congress would organise Chhatron Ki Goonj programmes in major cities across the country. He appealed to students and unemployed youth to participate in the campaign and share their concerns, suggestions and experiences.
Dr. Balmoor Venkat said the Chhatron Ki Goonj campaign was not a political programme but a national movement for the future of the country’s youth. He said the Congress believed India could emerge as a global power only by fulfilling the aspirations of students and young people.
In addition, he said the party would continue to campaign for education reforms, employment opportunities and equal access to education. He also urged all sections of society to support the nationwide movement to press the Central government for reforms.
