Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday ordered an Assembly incidents probe into events over the past three days and named IPS officer Vijay Kumar as investigating officer.
Speaking in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy alleged that the BRS had hatched a conspiracy at a farmhouse to disrupt the House proceedings. He warned that legal action would follow against those who directly participated and others allegedly involved in planning the incidents.
The Chief Minister alleged that the conspiracy was hatched at a farmhouse on September 6. He said verbal attacks against the Speaker followed on September 7. According to him, a “purification” ritual was then conducted on September 8.
“Courts may grant bail, but society will not grant bail,” Revanth Reddy said. He said the government would bring those who allegedly planned and executed the conspiracy before the court. They would face punishment according to law, he added.

Revanth Reddy said deliberately insulting Dalits and disturbing law and order were serious offences. He also cited incitement of hatred and violence. Those responsible for oppression and atrocities against Dalits should face punishment under the law, he said.
The Chief Minister said the Assembly session had been convened to discuss issues affecting the public. These included 22-A lands and other matters. However, he alleged that the BRS wanted to prevent detailed discussions on those issues.
Revanth Reddy claimed such discussions would lead to the BRS’s “political burial”. He accused BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao of calling party legislators to his Erravelli farmhouse.
According to Revanth Reddy, BRS MLAs and MLCs were called there on the eve of the Assembly session. He alleged that a conspiracy was then planned to prevent the House from functioning.
Assembly incidents probe follows Speaker row
Referring to a recent incident in Uttarakhand, Revanth Reddy said a complaint had earlier been made to the President condemning that episode. “We had complained to the President condemning the incident that had taken place earlier in Uttarakhand. Unfortunately, a similar incident occurred in Telangana,” he said.
The Chief Minister alleged that some people entered the Assembly and attacked employees while they were performing their duties. “They insulted the Speaker and his mother. Society as a whole condemned the remarks made by BRS leaders,” he said.
Revanth Reddy said Dalits had decided to protest at the same farmhouse where he alleged the conspiracy had been planned. He maintained that the protesters had gone there to demonstrate rather than carry out attacks.
“They went there to protest against the conspiracy hatched at the farmhouse, not to carry out attacks,” he said. “By beating drums and raising slogans in a democratic manner, Dalits expressed their feelings,” the Chief Minister added.
Assembly incidents probe amid political confrontation
Revanth Reddy also spoke about the Congress party’s role in India’s political history. He said the party had enjoyed public trust and had made several sacrifices for the country.
“Congress was founded with a great objective and made several sacrifices for the country,” he said. “Reservations were provided in the Constitution for the development of communities that had suffered oppression and discrimination,” he added.
The Chief Minister said Congress had played a key role in safeguarding the country during crises involving Pakistan and Bangladesh. He also said the party had fought against British exploitation and atrocities.
“Our Constitution has enabled India to stand proudly before the nations of the world,” Revanth Reddy said.
