Hyderabad: The Arrive Alive initiative has led to a 42 per cent decline in road accidents in Sircilla sub-division, highlighting growing public awareness about road safety.
Officials said accident numbers during the past two months fell sharply compared with the first three months of the year.
They also reported zero road accidents in Illanthakunta and Veernapalli mandals during the period.
Authorities described the achievement as a result of sustained awareness efforts among motorists and the public.
Arrive Alive initiative drives road safety awareness
As part of the programme, officials organised a road safety and anti-drug awareness rally in Sircilla town.
Students, youth and local residents participated in large numbers.
Officials displayed vehicles involved in recent road accidents to demonstrate the consequences of traffic violations.
They explained the causes behind the accidents and educated motorists about safe driving practices.
Further, officials distributed helmets to riders and encouraged their regular use.
They also urged motorists to avoid drunk driving and overspeeding.
According to officials, following traffic rules can significantly reduce accidents and save lives.
The campaign continues to promote responsible driving habits and strengthen road safety awareness across the region.
