Hyderabad: The Crime Team of Serilingampally Zone and Ameenpur police arrested an accused in multiple burglary cases and recovered gold ornaments weighing 50 tulas during a property offences arrest in Cyberabad.
Police identified the accused as Mandla Shiva alias Yerra Shiva, 32, from Bhupesh Gupta Colony in Jillelaguda, Meerpet of Rangareddy district. He originally belonged to Ram Naik Tanda in Kollapur mandal of Nagarkurnool district.
According to investigators, the accused committed a burglary at a house in Gandigudem Colony under Ameenpur police station limits on February 21, 2026. He allegedly used an iron rod to break open the house lock and stole gold and silver ornaments.
Police said the accused later targeted another locked house in Bandamkommu locality during the second week of April 2026. He allegedly stole diamond-studded gold ornaments weighing nearly 50 tulas.
Property offences arrest linked to multiple thefts
Investigators said the accused committed another theft during the last week of April 2026 in Beeramguda locality. He allegedly stole valuable watches and petty cash from an almirah inside the house.
Police said the accused came to Hyderabad in search of employment and worked as a construction labourer under a mason.
However, investigators stated that he later turned to property offences to maintain a lavish lifestyle. Police linked him to 24 property offence cases registered in Cyberabad Commissionerate, Malkajgiri Commissionerate and Nagarkurnool district.
Officials also said the accused had gone to jail several times in earlier cases.
Property offences arrest led to seizure of jewellery
During the property offences arrest, police recovered 45 tolas of gold ornaments, diamond-studded jewellery, Rs.5,000 cash, one scooter and the iron rod allegedly used in the offences.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chintamaneni Srinivas, IPS, DCP, Serilingampally Zone, Muthyam Reddy, DCP Crimes, N. Uday Reddy, Additional DCP, Serilingampally Zone, and Nageswara Rao, ACP Crimes.
Inspector Bhoopati of CCS Serilingampally, DI Satyanarayana of Ameenpur police station and other staff members apprehended the accused.
The Cyberabad Police Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Ameenpur police team in solving the burglary cases.
