Patancheru police arrest two in murder case

Hyderabad: Patancheru police arrested two accused persons in a murder case arrest linked to the killing of a cargo auto driver whose body was found in an open plotting area near Candiidus International School in Patancheru.

Police identified the accused as Baindla Naveen, 24, a hotel businessman from Chaitanya Nagar, Patancheru, and R. Prameela, 27, a resident of Muttangi near Isnapur Cross Road in Patancheru mandal.

Investigators said the case was reported on May 14, 2026, after Yesudas lodged a complaint regarding the death of his brother, Shekar Rayigalla.

Police said Shekar Rayigalla worked as a cargo auto driver and lived at Isnapur village with his family. His body was found in an open plotting area behind Candiidus International School.

Murder case arrest followed extra-marital affair probe

According to police, Naveen had known the deceased for nearly four years. He allegedly supplied tea and tiffins to workers at a godown in IDA Patancheru where the deceased worked as a goods auto driver.

During the course of their friendship, Naveen allegedly became acquainted with Prameela, the wife of the deceased. Police said the two later developed an extra-marital relationship.

Investigators stated that Naveen frequently visited the house of the deceased and financially supported Prameela during her seven-month pregnancy. Police alleged that the deceased later discovered the affair and began quarrelling with his wife and warning Naveen.

According to police, Naveen then planned to eliminate the deceased following repeated disputes over the relationship.

Murder case arrest led to seizure of scooter and mobiles

Police said Naveen invited the deceased to consume liquor at an isolated open plotting area behind the school on May 12, 2026.

During the drinking session, an argument allegedly broke out over unpaid debts and harassment of Prameela. Investigators said Naveen attacked the deceased with a stone when he was heavily intoxicated, resulting in his death.

Police said Naveen later informed Prameela about the killing.

During the murder case arrest, police seized one scooty and three mobile phones from the accused.

The arrests were made under the supervision of Chintamaneni Srinivas, IPS, DCP, Serilingampally Zone, and N. Uday Reddy, Additional DCP, by Inspector G. Vinayak Reddy and the staff of Patancheru police station.
