Bhatti Vikramarka travels by RTC bus and Metro with ministers, promotes common pass

Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka travelled by RTC bus and Metro Rail with several ministers on Saturday. During the journey, he said the RTC Metro common pass had been introduced to make public transport more convenient.

Bhatti Vikramarka said the government was considering linking the common pass with autorickshaws and cabs in the future. He said such integration could give commuters easier travel options across the city.

For the journey, the Deputy Chief Minister and the ministers used an RTC day pass. They reached Begumpet Metro Station before switching to Metro Rail.

From there, the group travelled by Metro to Jubilee Hills Check Post. Meanwhile, Bhatti Vikramarka purchased combo passes for the ministers who accompanied him.

RTC Metro common pass targets traffic and public transport use

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the common pass aimed to reduce traffic congestion in Hyderabad. In addition, he said the initiative would encourage more passengers to choose public transport.

Ponnam Prabhakar said the government was testing the combo pass on a trial basis. He added that authorities would ensure commuters did not face an additional financial burden.

Ministers Vivek and Azharuddin were among those who travelled with Bhatti Vikramarka using the combo pass. Together, the group used both RTC bus and Metro services during the journey.

Furthermore, the government is considering wider integration of transport services. The proposed connection with autos and cabs could expand the common travel system in the future.

Therefore, officials are testing the initiative as a way to make public transport more accessible while addressing traffic congestion in Hyderabad.
