Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau continued searches on Tuesday in the NIMS disproportionate assets case against Additional Superintendent and Additional Professor Nori Lakshmi Bhasker. The ACB had registered the case on September 21, 2026. It booked the official under Section 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
As part of the investigation, ACB officials searched five locations in and around Hyderabad on Tuesday. The Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad had issued warrants for the searches.
Officials also searched residences of people suspected of acting as benamis. The ACB suspected that some of them had financial or other transactions with the accused official. During the searches, officials seized documents and other material allegedly connected with suspected benami assets.
NIMS disproportionate assets searches uncover documents
According to the ACB, officials seized Rs 4,94,394 in cash from the residence of Dhanraj, a NIMS employee. They also found documents concerning three agricultural land parcels in Maheshwaram. The ACB valued the properties at approximately Rs 57 lakh.
Furthermore, officials found documents relating to an open plot at Venkateswara Cooperative Housing Society in MLA Colony, Banjara Hills. The ACB estimated the value of the plot at Rs 2.70 crore.
Meanwhile, officials found details of two investments totalling Rs 20 lakh. The ACB alleged that D. Ganesh, a NIMS outsourcing employee, and others held the investments. In addition, investigators recovered receipts relating to hand loans totalling Rs 3 lakh.
The ACB said officials were conducting further verification of the assets and documents. The agency also said the investigation remained underway. The ACB asked members of the public to report corruption-related complaints through its toll-free number, 1064.
