Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS leader T. Harish Rao demanded Kodangal demolition compensation and rehabilitation for families who lost their houses in Maddur mandal. Harish Rao questioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over the demolitions in the Kodangal Assembly constituency.
In a post on X, he alleged that authorities demolished the houses overnight with police support. He also claimed that officials had not issued basic notices or considered court orders.
Harish Rao questioned how authorities could demolish houses belonging to poor families in the Chief Minister’s constituency. He said the exercise could not be described as “Praja Palana”. Moreover, he alleged that families who had lived in the area for decades became homeless overnight. He described the action as “bulldozer raj”.
Harish Rao demands Kodangal demolition compensation
Harish Rao demanded that the government immediately take responsibility for the affected families. He sought fair Kodangal demolition compensation for every family that lost its home. In addition, he demanded proper rehabilitation for those affected.
The BRS leader said authorities should provide compensation and rehabilitation under the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013. Meanwhile, Harish Rao said the BRS strongly condemned what he described as undemocratic action. He also urged the state government to support the demolition victims and ensure their rehabilitation.
