Air Vice Marshal GKJ Reddy takes charge as Commandant of College of Defence Management

Hyderabad: Air Vice Marshal GKJ Reddy, VSM, on Friday assumed charge as Commandant of the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad.

He succeeded Major General G. Srinivas, VSM, who will now take over as General Officer Commanding (GOC), Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA).

Air Vice Marshal GKJ Reddy joined the Indian Air Force fighter stream after receiving his commission in 1990. Over the years, he built extensive operational and instructional experience within the force.

A Category-A Qualified Flying Instructor, he has accumulated more than 4,500 flying hours during his career. In addition, he completed higher military education at the National Defence College and the Defence Services Staff College.

Air Vice Marshal GKJ Reddy brings vast experience

The Air Officer has held several important command and staff appointments across the Indian Air Force. Most recently, he served as Associate Director (PMT) at the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Furthermore, he has contributed to operational, training and strategic assignments during his distinguished military career.

The Indian Air Force officer also received the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) in recognition of his meritorious service.

Air Vice Marshal GKJ Reddy takes charge of one of the country’s premier military institutions responsible for higher defence management education.

The College of Defence Management plays a key role in preparing senior military officers for leadership and strategic responsibilities. Therefore, the institution remains an important centre for professional military education.

Officials said the college would continue its focus on developing strategic leadership, management skills and operational excellence within the Indian Armed Forces under his leadership.

His appointment marks a new chapter for the institution as it continues to train officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force in defence management and national security studies.
