Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy District Collector C. Narayana Reddy on Friday directed officials to conduct the voter list revision process in a transparent and systematic manner in accordance with Election Commission guidelines.
The Collector issued the directions during an awareness programme on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) held at the Integrated District Offices Complex. Additional Collector (Revenue) K. Chandra Reddy, election officials and representatives of recognised political parties attended the meeting.
The Collector said the house-to-house enumeration exercise would take place from June 25 to July 24. Thereafter, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will verify the collected data and prepare the draft electoral rolls.
He said authorities would publish the rationalised draft voter list on July 31.
Voter list revision process to follow fixed schedule
Narayana Reddy said officials would receive objections and claims on the draft rolls between July 31 and August 30.
Subsequently, authorities will examine and resolve all complaints in accordance with Election Commission rules before September 28. The administration will publish the final electoral roll on October 1.
The Collector directed officials to carry out polling station mapping transparently. Moreover, he instructed them to ensure that members of the same family remain within the jurisdiction of the same polling station wherever possible.
He also advised officials to seek cooperation from booth-level agents of political parties during the exercise. According to him, every individual should possess only one voter identity card.
Therefore, voters holding multiple cards should voluntarily remove duplicate entries. He warned that authorities would take action against violations as per Election Commission guidelines.
The Collector also stressed the need to remove the names of deceased persons from the electoral rolls. Furthermore, he warned that officials would take action against BLOs who fail to exercise due diligence.
Voter list revision process includes voter awareness
Narayana Reddy said officials would organise special training programmes for Booth Level Officers and political party booth agents as part of the voter list revision process.
He directed officials to efficiently handle address changes, correction of voter details and registration of new voters.
The Collector said young citizens who will attain 18 years of age by October 1, 2026, can apply for voter registration during the house-to-house survey. They can submit Form-6 along with the required declaration form.
In addition, voters can verify their details and complete application forms through the toll-free number 1950, the Voter Portal and the ECINET mobile application.
The Collector appealed to representatives of political parties to extend full cooperation to Booth Level Officers and election officials to ensure the successful completion of the voter list revision process.
Revenue Divisional Officers Saritha and Jagadishwar Reddy, tahsildars, election officials, political party representatives and officials from various departments attended the meeting.
