Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday trapped two Adilabad irrigation officials for allegedly demanding and accepting a ₹60,000 bribe from a complainant.
The accused were identified as Executive Engineer Rathod Vittal and Assistant Engineer Rupavathi Ramesh of the Irrigation Department, Adilabad district.
According to the ACB, the Executive Engineer allegedly demanded the bribe through the Assistant Engineer. The officials allegedly sought the money to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

The complainant required the NOC to construct a poultry farm on agricultural land at Sonal village in Adilabad district. A small canal passes adjacent to the proposed site.
Meanwhile, ACB officials recovered the tainted amount of ₹60,000 from the possession of the Assistant Engineer during the trap.
The ACB stated that the officials had performed their official duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
Further, the agency said it would produce both accused before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Karimnagar, for judicial remand. The investigation is continuing.
The ACB withheld the complainant’s identity for security reasons. It also appealed to the public to report bribery demands through its toll-free helpline 1064 or other official complaint channels.
