Hyderabad: Telangana Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr G. Vivek Venkatswamy called for stronger labour rights and social security during the inauguration of the BRICS Trade Union Forum Summit-2026 in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya jointly inaugurated the three-day summit.
The summit is being held from July 14 to 16. Around 110 delegates from 14 countries are participating in the event.
Addressing the inaugural session, Vivek Venkatswamy said Artificial Intelligence and automation were rapidly transforming the global labour market. According to him, workers now need stronger social security, continuous skill development and lifelong learning.

The Minister said workers contribute more effectively to industrial growth when they have confidence in their jobs and family welfare. He urged countries to strengthen social security systems, protect labour rights and invest in workforce development.
Further, Vivek Venkatswamy said delegates would discuss technological transformation, the future of work, skill development, labour rights and trade union strengthening. He added that the forum would examine successful labour policies and recommend best practices for wider adoption.
Highlighting Telangana’s initiatives, the Minister said the State Government had established Advanced Technology Centres across Telangana. He said the centres provide industry-oriented technical training to prepare young people for future employment.
Meanwhile, Vivek Venkatswamy said the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company was helping youth secure overseas jobs in Germany, Japan, several European countries and the Middle East. He said the initiative was creating international employment opportunities while strengthening Telangana’s skilled workforce.
The summit has drawn delegates from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Malaysia and Nigeria.
