Uttam Kumar Reddy directs officials to speed up procurement operations

Hyderabad: Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy directed district collectors to speed up procurement operations for paddy and maize across Telangana.

Uttam Kumar Reddy joined Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other ministers in a video conference with district collectors.

The meeting reviewed procurement activities across the state.

The minister instructed officials to immediately inform the government about challenges arising in their districts.

He assured collectors that the government would provide full support to resolve issues related to procurement operations.

Procurement operations reviewed with district collectors

Uttam Kumar Reddy said the government was ready to extend all assistance required for smooth procurement.

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao also attended the video conference.

Tummala Nageswara Rao said the Telangana government was procuring paddy on a large scale under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

He said some farmers from neighbouring states were bringing paddy to procurement centres in Telangana.

The minister said this trend was creating problems in certain areas.

Officials instructed district collectors to take preventive measures to stop inflow of paddy from neighbouring states.

They also directed officials to complete procurement operations by the end of May.
