Uber expansion plans discussed with Telangana government

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy discussed Uber expansion plans in Telangana with Uber Technologies CEO Dara Khosrowshahi in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s residence in Jubilee Hills.

During the meeting, Khosrowshahi said Uber would continue working closely with the Telangana Government to expand operations in the State. He also said the company was expanding its Center of Excellence in Hyderabad.

Currently, nearly 600 engineers work at the facility. Khosrowshahi said the centre was Uber’s first Center of Excellence outside the United States.

Uber expansion plans in Future City

Meanwhile, Uber representatives expressed interest in establishing the company’s corporate office in the proposed Future City project.

Revanth Reddy also urged Uber to explore opportunities in the parking management sector. He highlighted growing parking problems in major cities across the country.

In addition, the Chief Minister asked the company to examine the possibility of setting up multi-level parking centres for future urban needs.

Responding positively, Uber representatives said they would conduct a comprehensive study on the proposal.

Further, Revanth Reddy assured the delegation that the Telangana Government would extend full support for Uber’s expansion and investment plans in the State.

Uber Chief Business Officer Madhu Kannan, Uber India and South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh, Chief Technology Officer Praveen Nippalli Naga and Chief Minister’s Special Secretary Ajit Reddy attended the meeting.
