Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday accused the previous BRS government of mismanaging major irrigation projects despite spending massive public funds over the past decade.
Speaking in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, the Minister alleged that the previous government spent nearly ₹1.8 lakh crore on irrigation projects. He claimed it still failed to complete them properly.
He also alleged that the Kaleshwaram project developed structural problems because the previous government prioritised commissions over construction quality.
The Minister said the Congress government would complete the Sitarama project. He added that it would ensure Godavari waters reached the erstwhile Khammam district.
