Two road accidents leave four dead in Medak, Khammam

Hyderabad: Four people were killed in two separate road accidents reported from Medak and Khammam districts on Monday.

In the first incident, two youths travelling in an auto died after it was hit by an RTC bus near National Sugar Factory on the outskirts of Mambujipally in Medak district. The victims were identified as Srikanth, 26, and Naresh, 25, both residents of Potan Shettipally village. Three other passengers in the auto sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital. The auto was completely damaged in the crash. Police said overspeeding and an overtaking attempt led to the collision.

In the second incident near Hemanagar village in Khammam district, a Bolero vehicle crashed into a bike carrying two persons. According to police, Rajesh, an outsourcing employee travelling to his workplace in Kothagudem, picked up home guard Raghupati attached to Kothagudem police station who had asked for a lift. A speeding Bolero rammed into their bike, leaving both critically injured. They were shifted to hospital but died during treatment.
