IT corridor hostels declare week-long holiday as water supply stops

Madhapur: Hostel managements in the IT corridor declared a week-long holiday for students after the water supply stopped. With water cut off completely and electricity not working properly, they asked students to go home on Tuesday evening.

The managements told students that online classes would run for the next week and that they should vacate immediately. Students faced great difficulty as a result.

Tanker owners protested after Hydra officials took action against illegal boreholes in Madhapur and surrounding areas. Students faced severe problems because hostels were not getting water. Tanker owners spotted some tankers still running, blocked them and dumped the water. As a result, hostels did not get a drop of water.
